1. Our Commitment

Draxford Technologies Limited ("PlanFi") is committed to ensuring that our AI-powered lesson planning platform is accessible to all users, including persons with disabilities. We believe that every educator deserves equal access to technology tools that support their professional practice.

We continuously work to improve the accessibility and usability of planfi.app in accordance with internationally recognised standards and best practices.

2. Conformance Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines cover accessibility for:

  • Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, colour blindness)
  • Hearing impairments
  • Motor impairments and limited dexterity
  • Cognitive and learning disabilities
  • Speech disabilities
  • Photosensitivity and seizure disorders

3. Accessibility Features

3.1 Navigation and Structure - Full keyboard navigation support - Logical heading hierarchy and semantic HTML - Skip navigation links - Consistent navigation patterns - Clear focus indicators

3.2 Visual Design - WCAG AA colour contrast ratios (4.5:1 normal, 3:1 large text) - Information not conveyed by colour alone - Responsive design supporting 200% text resize - No flashing content (>3 flashes/second)

3.3 Content and Forms - Descriptive labels for all form inputs - Meaningful alt text for images and icons - Clear error messages with suggestions - ARIA attributes for dynamic content

3.4 Documents - Structured headings in generated PDFs - Print-friendly layouts

4. Known Limitations

  • PDF exports: Some may have limited structural tagging for screen readers
  • Third-party integrations: Varying accessibility levels outside our direct control
  • Complex features: Curriculum selection wizard may require extra keyboard steps
  • AI-generated content: May not include optimal heading structures or alt text
  • Legacy content: Older documents may not meet current standards

We are actively working to address these limitations.

5. Assistive Technology Compatibility

PlanFi is designed to be compatible with:

  • Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
  • Screen magnification software
  • Speech recognition software
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser-based accessibility extensions

Optimised for current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop and mobile.

6. Feedback and Support

Report accessibility issues to support@planfi.app with subject "Accessibility Feedback". Include:

  • Description of the issue and page/feature
  • Assistive technology and browser used
  • Device and operating system
  • Any error messages

Acknowledgement within 3 business days. For critical barriers, we provide alternative access while fixing.

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Regular automated and manual accessibility testing
  • Accessibility review in release process
  • Team training on accessible design
  • User feedback incorporated into roadmap
  • Periodic third-party audits

8. Legal Framework

Compliant with the Persons with Disabilities Act of Zambia and aligned with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), to which Zambia is a signatory.
